Larkin named to SIRF board

The Seafood Industry Research Fund (SIRF) on Thursday announced that Mary Larkin, of SeafoodSource parent company Diversified Business Communications (DBC), has been named to its board of directors.

DBC is a media company that educates and strengthens business communities through international trade and consumer events, trade publications and e-media. With the company since 1995, Larkin is group VP and publisher of SeaFoodBusiness and SeafoodSource and oversees the International Boston Seafood Show, Seafood Barcelona, the Asian Seafood Exposition and the European Seafood Exposition. She has been asked to help with the process of redefining SIRF’s image and broadening its appeal.

“Mary Larkin is a tremendous addition to the SIRF board,” said Russ Mentzer, SIRF chairman. “Her marketing and communications acumen will be key to helping rebrand SIRF as an industry focused group that addresses business concerns.”

“I am excited to join the SIRF board,” said Larkin. “SIRF has an important impact on research that is beneficial to the seafood community. I look forward to raising SIRF’s visibility and contributing to the board.”
