DKSH Management, a Swiss-based market expansion services provider, on Friday launched the first frozen Marine Stewardship Council-certified mussels in Tesco stoes across the United Kingdom.
The mussels are caught in Denmark’s LimFjord by Vilsund Muslinge Industri (VMI) and are the first in the world to carry the MSC eco-label. The company also recently connected an x-ray scanner to their production line, which is the latest improvement to maintain production of high-quality mussels by helping eliminate all pieces of shell and other foreign substances.
DKSH is actively supporting local suppliers to run seafood businesses sustainably by working with the MSC, Aquaculture Stewardship Council and Friend of the Sea.
