Seanamico has been certified under the Friend of the Sea (FoS) sustainable aquaculture standard. The Vietnam-based company’s farmed black shrimp products can now display the international FoS sustainability logo.
The aquaculture site is located in the coastal area of Ca Mau province. Seanamico conducts a low impact aquaculture that complies with all FoS standards. The farming activity generates no critical alteration to the surrounding ecosystems, such as the mangrove forest. An advanced system of monitoring screens and sluice gates prevents escape of farmed shrimp and entrance of other organisms.
“We believe that Friend of the Sea is the best recognized aquaculture sustainability standard,” said Ngo Minh Hien of Seanamico. “The achievement of this certification is a very clear message to our customers about our commitment.”
