Eurofins acquires BASF division

Belgium’s Eurofins Scientific, which provides analytical support to the global agri-food market, on Friday said it plans to acquire the Quality Trait Analysis (QTA) division from BASF Corporation.

The QTA system is a patented analytical service that enables clients to quickly and easily test the quality of products and materials, reliably and accurately. QTA handles all technical development, configuration, management and monitoring behind the scenes, enabling accurate quality testing by non-technical personnel, and allowing its clients more freedom in managing their operations. QTA helps its clients measurably increase the value of their finished product, improve process yields, reduce waste and rework and improve profitability.

As part of the deal, Eurofins will also enter into a supplier agreement with BASF Corporation to provide QTA patented testing and technical support to BASF globally.

The acquisition will allow QTA to offer the full range of service available from Eurofins’ collection of more than 160 laboratories around the world.
