Nordic Natural, producer of pure fish-oil supplements, on Monday announced it will participate in the first-ever Omega-3 Awareness Day on 3 March. Omega-3 Awareness day is an effort spearheaded by a team of world-renowned doctors, who first announced the campaign in November.

Experts from the Watsonville, Calif.-based company will host educational radio shows and educational demos in retail stores nationwide.

Nordic is also offering special consumers promotions that day.

“For Omega-3 Awareness Day, plan a meal high in omega-3 fatty acids, consider daily supplementation with purified fish oil if you are not already doing so. If you are already supplementing, check to see if you are meeting your specific body and health needs,” said Bradley West, Nordic Naturals research advisor. “Share this important message with your friends, family and coworkers. The discoveries made in the last 30 years around these healthy fats have revolutionized our current health paradigm and can make a tremendous contribution to our quality of life.”
