Norwegian fish oil producer GC Rieber Oils has received Friend of the Sea sustainability certification for its line of refined and concentrated fish oils.
The company, according to Friend of the Sea, sources from small pelagics in the eastern central Atlantic and southeast Pacific oceans. The stocks in both areas, according to the nonprofit, are not overfished or otherwise overexploited.
“GC Rieber Oils is committed to sustainable and traceable fisheries and raw material sourcing in accordance with our exemplary company business ethics,” said Jan Roger Bjerkestrand, managing director at GC Rieber . “We greatly value the FOS certification as we continuously seek to bolster our company’s commitment and practices towards sustainable sourcing practices and stewardship of ocean resources.”
