Kroger recalls Aqua Star shrimp

U.S. grocery chain Kroger Co. is recalling some cooked shrimp products from Aqua Star because they actually may be raw.

The Cincinnati, Ohio-based chain is recalling nine different products supplied by Seattle, Washington-based Aqua Star, including: 26/30s Shrimp Cocktail, 26/30s Peeled Cooked Shrimp, 26/30s Cooked Shrimp Seasoned (service case), and Shrimp Grab & Go (service case).

Neither Kroger nor Aqua Star reported illnesses from the shrimp, but said the shrimp can be returned to shoppers’ Kroger store for a full refund.

The recall pertains to Kroger stores in Michigan, central and northwest Ohio, and northwestern Virginia. The recall also applies to Kroger’s King Soopers, Fry's, and Smith’s stores.
