Pacific Andes unaffected by Japan crisis

Frozen seafood supplier Pacific Andes Resources Development Ltd. on Monday confirmed that no signs of radioactive contamination has been detected in any of its seafood products.

The company also highlighted that it is not involved in out any fishing operations in or near Japan’s waters and that it has not directly or indirectly sourced or imported any raw materials, seafood products, packaging materials or machinery from Japan in the past three months. It has no plans to do so in the immediate future.

Pacific Andes also said its seafood sales to the Japanese market have not been affected.

The Singapore-based company has been constantly monitoring the radiation level of the sea water, fishing nets and fish harvested on board of all its vessels since the nuclear situation in Japan began and will continue to work closely with authorities to carry out extensive testing to ensure that all of its products meet safety and quality standards.
