U.S. restaurant chain Captain D’s announced “record-breaking” average unit volume in 2014, and an increase in sales in the fourth quarter.
The company reported a 5.7 percent 4Q same-store sales increase, the second year in a row that the company’s volumes reached all-time highs. The company indicated the opening of a company-owned restaurant, the first in several years, with plans for another opening in 2Q 2015 in Florida.
"Our significant accomplishments this year are a direct result of our collective team focused on delivering an unmatched experience for our guests nationwide," said Phil Greifeld, CEO and president of Captain D's. "Over the past couple of years, we've built a tremendous amount of momentum that we intend to leverage into 2015 and beyond."
The company also rolled out a new restaurant design, with 31 franchised restaurants remodeled in 2014 and 57 scheduled for 2015.
