Around 200 guests expected to attend SNP’s “Celebration of Sustainable Seafood”

The Seafood Nutrition Partnership is kicking off National Seafood Month on 1 October with a “Celebration of Sustainable Seafood” event featuring top chefs.

The celebration will be held at Ivy City Smokehouse in Washington, District of Columbia, U.S.A., from 6 to 9 p.m on 1 October, SNP said.

Some top chefs from the D.C. area will offer signature seafood bites to around 200 guests, and Michael-Ann Rowe, the Fishionita and Emmy Award-winning food and travel journalist, will emcee the event.

“This event is a great way to kick off my favorite month of the year with a little education and a lot of delicious seafood,” said Rowe, an SNP ambassador, in a press release.

Among the featured chefs attending the event are: Executive Chef Mike Ellis of Charlie Palmer Steak, Chef Matt Baker of Gravitas, Chef/Partner Ron Goodman of Ivy City Smokehouse, and Chef/General Manager Joseph Cotton and Chef Tyler Skinner of Sodexo/National Aquarium.

The Celebration of Sustainable Seafood is a fundraiser to support the non-profit SNP and its mission to empower a healthier America through seafood nutrition. Event sponsors include the Aquaculture Stewardship Council, Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute, Australis Barramundi, Camanchaca, CenSea, Mazzetta Company, Open Blue Cobia, Stavis Seafoods, Sustainable Shrimp Partnership, and Wiley’s Finest.
