Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A.-based seafood brand Chicken of the Sea has revamped its 60-year-old jingle with singer, actress, and entrepreneur Jessica Simpson holding the microphone.
Simpson’s singing of the iconic jingle coincides with the launch of Chicken of the Sea’s new Wild Caught Light Tuna packet, featuring Frank’s RedHot.
"We couldn't imagine a better partner than Jessica Simpson to revamp our brand's beloved jingle," Chicken of the Sea Director of Marketing Griffin Raasch said. "This felt like the perfect moment to announce our newest tuna packet made in partnership with Frank's RedHot. We're excited to expand our on-the-go lineup and get this new offering directly into the hands of our consumers."
Each packet contains 14 grams of lean protein and 70 calories. It’s also sold ready-to-eat and is shelf stable, requiring zero prep or refrigeration, according to the firm.
“[Simpson] highlights her love of tuna while showcasing the Wild Caught Light Tuna Packet with Frank's RedHot as a convenient, flavorful source of protein that powers her through the recording session,” the company said in a release. “The spot captures the spirit of Frank's RedHot's famous tagline, ‘I put that $#!t on everything,’ by emphasizing how the new tuna packet makes it easy to add a flavor boost and protein to snacks and meals anytime, anywhere.”
Chicken of the Sea added that Frank's mixes perfectly with Chicken of the Sea’s savory tuna flavor in a “boldly infused packet” and said that “Chicken of the Sea packets are 100 percent mermaid approved” in a nod to the jingle’s lyrics: “Ask any mermaid you happen to see, what's the best tuna? Chicken of the Sea!”
