Clean Seas and Beston ink distribution deal for China, South Korea

Beston Global Food Co. (Dalian) Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beston Global Food Co. Ltd (BFC), has agreed a contract with Clean Seas Tuna Ltd. for the distribution of fresh and frozen kingfish in China, incorporating Hong Kong SAR, and the Republic of Korea.

The initial contract covers the period from June 2016 to December 2017 including an initial shipment of 176 metric tons (MT) (whole weight equivalent) of frozen product.

In a statement, BFC said, “Through this sale, the China operations of BFC have facilitated the establishment of Clean Seas kingfish as a premium seafood product in the Chinese and South Korean markets.”

Further shipments of at least 340 MT are envisaged in the next 18 months. During this time, BFC will also be working with Clean Seas and BFC’s investee company Ferguson Australia to explore and optimize opportunities for value-adding to Clean Seas kingfish through on-shore processing at Mori Seafoods, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ferguson Australia.
