Enhanced lobster, cod flavors spice up new product range from Essentia

Ingredients business Essentia Protein Solutions is breaking into the seafood market with its new ProBase clean label fish pastes and fish powder range.

The range – which is comprised of 100 percent natural seafood raw materials including cod, mussel, plaice and lobster flavors – is meant for a savory application, and has been optimized to enhance the real fish taste in a number of culinary endeavors such as stocks, stock cubes, bouillons, soups, sauces and ready meals, savory mixes and blends, canned products, fish cakes, sticks and paté, fishballs, salads, dressings, snacks and more. Sold as either a paste or spray-dried powder, the range is additive-free and considered to be a clean label product line, according to Essentia.

“These fish bases can be used as the basic ingredient in all kinds of fish recipes, and provide a fantastic full-bodied flavor profile in the finished product,” said Tom Cooke, Essentia’s regional director UK and Ireland, in a news release.

“We are proud to introduce our new seafood range to the UK market. It’s a logical extension to our comprehensive range of meat products, which are recognized for enhancing product quality and reducing formulation costs,” Cooke said.

Essentia is a global distributor, with operations in the United States, Europe, South America and Asia.
