Fortune Fish & Gourmet premieres new crabmeat, oyster products

Showcasing new products is at the top of the agenda for Illinois-based seafood purveyor Fortune Fish & Gourmet, which is displaying its new oyster and crabmeat offerings at the National Restaurant Association Show currently underway in Chicago.

The company’s newest products being promoted at the NRA event include:

  • Meribelle crabmeat – Meribelle Crabmeat is sourced from the south-central coast of Vietnam. Offerings include colossal, jumbo lump, lump, backfin, special, and claw varieties of crab meat, harvested live and hand-picked to ensure premium quality.
  • Hangtown oysters – Hailing from the Pacific coast, Hangtown Oysters are farmed in the tidelands of a natural glacier-carved fjord in the Kitsap Peninsula of Puget Sound, Washington. Farmed exclusively for Fortune Fish & Gourmet, the oysters feature a well-balanced combination of sweetness at the start, with a buttery soft brine finish.
  • Farmerette Mozzarella – Named for the group of women who moved to farms during World War II, Farmerette Mozzarella is made on a rural family farm in Wisconsin. The milk-producing Holstein cows are fed a homegrown foraged diet of corn, alfalfa and soybeans. Due to the proximity of the farm, milking barn, and cheese plant to each other, the mozzarella is made within hours of milking.

Fortune Fish & Gourmet is a seafood processor known to distribute a variety of products to white-tablecloth restaurants, private clubs, elegant hotels and independent and gourmet retail stores. The company handles more than 8,000 products, sending them out to customers in Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana and Michigan.
