LovetheWild expands to Midwest

Heinen’s Fine Foods, a 22-store grocery chain based in Cleveland, Ohio, recently began carrying sustainable frozen seafood meal kits from LovetheWild.

LovetheWild, already sold at Whole Foods Markets stores, Wegmans, and other grocery chains, aims to have its products sold nationwide by the end of 2017.

The Boulder, Colorado-based seafood supplier uses traceable, farm-raised fish “sourced from the most well-managed aquaculture facilities in the world,” according to a LovetheWild statement.

“Our partnership with Heinen's aligns with our overall mission of putting easy-to-prepare, high-quality seafood from a trusted source into the hands of new consumers,” said LovetheWild CEO and co-founder Jacqueline Claudia. “I’ve made it my life’s work to make it easier for Americans to eat more seafood, and I’m thrilled to offer more options to those in the Midwest region.”

LovetheWild labels each package with the fish’s origin, down to the location and name of the farm, the farmer responsible, and the farms’ third-party certifications, including the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program.

Three of LoveTheWild’s kits – Striped Bass with Roasted Pepper Almond Sauce, Barramundi with Mango Sriracha Chutney, and Red Trout with Salsa Verde – will be sold at Heinen’s.
