McCormick & Company last week announced Robert Lawless will retire as chairman of the board and Alan Wilson, president and CEO, will assume the position, effective March 25.
In his 15 years with McCormick, Wilson has served as president of several business units and was COO prior to being appointed CEO last January.
Lawless retired as CEO in January 2008 and continued to serve as non-executive chairman. He served the company for more than 30 years.
“In 1998 when the board asked me to assume the position of chairman we faced a number of challenges. Since that time the company has accomplished a great deal and is well positioned for continued growth,” said Lawless. “Over the next few months I will work closely with the board and Alan Wilson to make this a seamless transition.”
