McCormick & Schmick’s looks for new CFO

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants announced on Wednesday that it’s on the lookout for a new CFO.

McCormick & Schmick’s said its previous CFO, Emanuel  Hilario, left the Portland, Ore., company on 21 May and failed to disclose the reasoning behind his departure.

Hilario joined the seafood chain in April 2004 as CFO and was previously CFO of Angelo and Maxie’s, formerly known as Chart House Enterprises.

Wednesday’s announcement comes three weeks after McCormick & Schmick’s posted a 13.9 percent drop in same-restaurant sales and 0.4 percent dip in revenues, to USD 91.9 million (EUR 68.5 million), in the first quarter ending 28 March. The company also reported a net loss of USD 1.1 million (EUR 820,800).

Last year, McCormick & Schmick’s posted a net loss of USD 69.6 million (EUR 55.1 million), compared to a net income of USD 8.8 million (EUR 6.96 million) in 2007.

The company operates 94 restaurants — 88 in the United States and six in Canada under The Boathouse banner.
