New fish salad snack pack range targets consumers on the move

Lithuanian food company Viciunai Group has introduced a new range of surimi sticks and fish salads outfitted with to-go packaging from RPC Superfos, in an effort to tap into the growing, on-the-go snacking market.

The new range includes surimi sticks with shrimps in white sauce, Atlantic herring fillets in a mushroom sauce as well as ten other variations of surimi and herring, according to FoodBev Media. The package for the salad range helps it appeal to consumer on-the-move, and was designed to take on picnics, road trips and for daily lunches. Each Vici salad comes in an EasySnacking 210-ml pot equipped with a lid and an injection-moulded spoon, which is “reclosable, stable, and optimised for stacking – whether filled or empty,” according to the company.

“We wanted a new type of pack for our new range of salads, and the 210-ml EasySnacking appealed to us,” said Viciunai Group packaging category purchasing manager Erda Jurgaityte to FoodBev. “The solution is completely new on our market and one of the biggest advantages of the package is the integral spoon, which is smooth and pleasant to touch.”

Supermarkets, convenience stores and other markets throughout Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and the Czech Republic will stock the Vici salad range, with Bulgaria soon to follow. Moreover, Viciunai plans on providing customers with more size options, between 150g and 250g packs.
