Summer grilling season in the United States is in high gear, prompting the National Fisheries Institute’s Salmon Council to reach out to its online partners to promote the premiere pink fish as an ideal protein to cook over the coals.
In keeping with similar salmon-focused campaigns in 2017, the NFI Salmon Council has once again tapped food bloggers from The Recipe Critic and Natasha’s Kitchen to compose dishes highlighting salmon’s grilling potential. Each blogger composed an original recipe showcasing “not only how effortless it is to grill salmon, but also how perfectly salmon pairs with other summer flavors,” said the council.
The resulting recipes include:
- Grilled Spicy Blackened Salmon Tacos with Pineapple Avocado Salsa, by The Recipe Critic (Alyssa Rivers)
- Grilled Salmon with Garlic Lime Butter, by Natasha’s Kitchen (Natasha Kravchuck)
“We’re thrilled with the salmon recipes Natasha and Alyssa created for our summer grilling feature. They’re really reinforcing the fact that salmon is one of the easiest proteins to prepare,” said Brandon Phillips, Senior Director of Communications and Advocacy with NFI. “From all the positive feedback we’re seeing, it’s clear that readers love these recipes as much as we do.”
Since they first appeared in late June, the blog posts and corresponding social media have generated 1.3 million views and more than 10,000 engagements.
The Salmon Council teamed with Natasha’s Kitchen and The Recipe Critic earlier this year in February for a similar campaign related to American Heart Month.
