Pacific West Foods wins British foodservice award

International seafood company Pacific West Foods won two prestigious awards for one of its foodservice products at the 2016 British Frozen Food Federation’s Annual Awards on 9 June.

Judges from the Craft Guild of Chefs selected the Pacific West’s coconut coated prawn skewers as the Foodservice Product of the Year for 2016. The judges also awarded Pacific West the Gold Award for Best New Start/Buffet/Appetizer for the skewers. Product entries were judged for appearance, texture, taste, product innovation, packaging and preparation.

In 2012, Pacific West won a BFFF Silver Award for its salt and pepper squid and in 2013, it won a Silver Award for its chilli mango prawns.

“To have achieved two Silver Awards plus this year’s Gold for Best New Starter Award and Foodservice Product of the Year – all in such a short time since we opened our offices in U.K. six years ago, I am so honored and very grateful to everyone involved. It is a fantastic achievement for our team here in the U.K. as well our colleagues in Malaysia,” Pacific West Managing Director Eric Rose said. “This highlights our dedication and focus to champion product innovation.”

Later in the month of June, Pacific West achieved another victory when its beer battered cod was chosen to be served at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships during the two-week-long event.

Pacific West Foods, a supplier of frozen seafood and value-added seafood products, is based in Malaysia and also has operations in the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore and France. In addition to the U.K., Pacific West’s products are also available throughout much of the rest of Europe, as well as South Africa, the Asia-Pacific Region, the Middle East and New Zealand. Pacific West is owned by Malaysian company Golden Fresh.
