Nueva Pescanova Group subsidiary Pescanova USA is adding an innovative shrimp line to its U.S. retail portfolio.
The new Toss & Serve Shrimp line features sustainably-farmed white shrimp, and comes with three varieties of sauce pairings: chipotle sea salt, citrus herb, and salted butter with garlic. The products are easy to prepare, Pescanova USA said, effectively “making seafood more accessible to both those working long hours and those who do not have much experience in the kitchen.”
“We are very excited to make shrimp dinners accessible to anyone who wants it, regardless of their cooking skills or time constraints,” Pescanova USA CEO Chris Maze explained in a press release. “At Pescanova USA, we believe sustainable seafood should be a part of everyone’s diet, and this is just one expression of that goal.”
Stores are currently carrying the Toss & Serve Shrimp line, which is a part of Pescanova USA’s broader Ready to Cook range. Products within the Ready to Cook range are designed with “speed and ease in mind,” the company said, and can be prepared in less than 10 minutes.
In the coming months, Pescanova USA said it plans to roll out other additions to the Toss & Serve Shrimp line. Beyond its latest retail line, the company also intends to introduce Pescanova Chef Ready Portions for its foodservice partners. Set for a May 2020 launch, the portions will feature a variety of species, from “Chilean sea bass to cooked octopus tentacles,” Pescanova USA said.
Founded in Miami, Florida in 1998, Pescanova USA spent many years dedicated to distribution and foodservice channels before entering the retail realm. The firm’s parent company, Nueva Pescanova Group, is a Spanish multinational seafood enterprise overseeing a fleet of 70 fishing vessels operating in the southern hemisphere. The group, which also runs its own aquaculture farms around the world, employs more than 10,000 people in over 20 countries and sell products in more than 80 countries.
