Popeyes brings back fan-favorite shrimp dish

Popular quick-service restaurant chain Popeyes is bringing back its Hushpuppy Butterfly Shrimp for a limited time, the company announced on 31 October.

The New Orleans, Louisiana-headquartered fast-casual enterprise decided to reintroduce the shrimp dish, which features eight premium butterfly shrimp marinated in Louisiana seasonings and then fried in a cornmeal hushpuppy batter – due to an influx of consumer requests.

“A combination that only Popeyes could offer, Hushpuppy Butterfly Shrimp pairs two classics into one show-stopping main dish,” said Hector A. Muñoz, chief marketing officer for Popeyes in the U.S., in a news release. “Guests asked and we responded – bringing back one of the most delicious, flavorful and beloved seafood offers that has ever graced the Popeyes table.”

The Hushpuppy Butterfly Shrimp dish comes with the main seafood item as well as a choice of one side, a buttermilk biscuit and Popeyes’ Cajun Cocktail Dipping Sauce, for USD 4.99 (EUR 4.54). The company is also offering a limited-release dessert item, Red Velvet Cake, to coincide with the Hushpuppy Butterfly Shrimp rollout and promotion at participating locations.
