Red Lobster, Olive Garden promote new lobster, shrimp dishes

Two major restaurant chains in the United States are promoting new shrimp and lobster dishes and deals as the  holiday season kicks off.

Olive Garden, which operates more than 800 restaurants, debuted a limited-time Shrimp Mac and Cheese that includes lobster, shrimp, and seafood alfredo sauce. The seafood dish is one of two new Oven Baked Pastas available during the holiday season at the franchise.

Red Lobster, which operates more than 700 restaurants in the United States and Canada, recently rolled out a limited time “Create Your Own Ultimate Feast” event. Customers can choose four of 10 different dishes to “create their perfect plate,” said the restaurant company in a statement regarding the event.

Guests can choose one lobster item, one “Seafood Favorite,” and two “Shrimp Classics,” along with their choice of salad, side, and unlimited Cheddar Bay Biscuits.

The Ultimate Feast selections include: Classic Maine Lobster Tail, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Signature Creamy Lobster Alfredo, Walt's Favorite Shrimp, Parrot Isle Jumbo Coconut Shrimp, Garlic Shrimp Scampi, and Wood-Grilled Jumbo Shrimp Skewer. Other choices include Wild-Caught Snow Crab Legs, Wood-Grilled Sea Scallops, and Wood-Grilled Sirloin.

“Our guests love coming to Red Lobster because they can get a variety of seafood, prepared in different ways, all on one plate," said Chef Dustin Hilinski, executive chef and director of culinary at Red Lobster. “Now, we’re giving our guests the opportunity to create their own perfect seafood combination plate.”

Red Lobster is also introducing a new “Weekday Win” promotion, which features certain meals for USD 15.00 (EUR 13.18) each. For example, on Mondays between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m., customers can order Endless Shrimp for USD 15.00 (EUR 13.18).
