Seafood in the spotlight during 2019 Oscars

The 91st Academy Awards ceremony – held on Sunday, 24 February, courtesy of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences – brought out all the celebrities in the entertainment world, but seafood was the star of the show on menus for the evening.

At by far the biggest and most well-known party, the Governors Ball, which is the official post-Oscars celebration in Hollywood, California, celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck and the Wolfgang Puck Catering team highlighted seafood at a poke, sushi, and shellfish station, where celebrities could request the items made-to-order.

Several seafood-starring appetizers were also served including a Lobster Corn Dog, Spicy Tuna Tartarte in Sesame Miso Cone, and Taro Root Taco with Shrimp, Mango, Avocado and, Chipotle Aioli.

Small plates at the Governors Ball included Dover Sole with Girasole Puree, Spaghetti Squash, and Herb Vinaigrette along with Baked Potato with Caviar.

Meanwhile, at Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party, open-face New England lobster rolls with tarragon aoili were featured appetizers, and pan-roasted sea bass with sweet corn souffle was an entree option, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
