Seafood restaurant chain Shell Shack expands

Dallas, Texas-based fast-casual seafood brand Shell Shack is expanding beyond Dallas to Houston and other United States cities, according to the company.

Shell Shack is partnering with Houston Shellfish Ventures, which will open franchised Shell Shack locations throughout Houston.

Shell Shack has four locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and says it will expand to other cities in Texas, as well as other U.S. states. Each restaurant produces around USD 4 million (EUR 3.4 million) in volume, according to the company.

"[Houston Shellfish Ventures'] site selection knowledge, paired with an experienced high volume, multi-unit veteran operator Larry Garrett – this group certainly has the making of success," said Shell Shack Director of Franchise Development Jon Glaser. "They will be building quality teams from the ground up and will execute our brand each and every day providing Shell Shack guest the level of experience that we expect and our guest deserve.”

Shell Shack has sold two franchise groups, totaling 11 units in development, in the past seven months, according to Dallas Hale, CEO of Shell Shack.
