Georgia, U.S.A.-based seafood supplier SeaPak Shrimp and Seafood Co. is looking to break into the healthy, convenient “anytime” meal category with its new frozen microwaveable seafood soups.
Launched under the company’s Selections line, the two new soup products – SeaPak Selections Shrimp Wonton Soup and SeaPak Selections Thai Coconut Shrimp Soup – are SeaPak’s first-ever microwaveable mealtime products. The offerings, which take six minutes to prepare from freezer to table, feature on-trend Asian flavors and give wellness-minded consumers the quick, nutritious meals they crave, SeaPak said.
“We understand that shoppers are looking for simple solutions that help them live better,” SeaPak Marketing Manager Leslie Harris Thomas said in a company release. “These new soups are designed to take the stress out of mealtime and give busy shoppers peace-of-mind knowing they’re enjoying a high-quality, healthy meal, even when time isn’t on their side.”
The soups contain no artificial preservatives, colors or flavor, and are gluten-free. The products also feature responsibly farmed shrimp certified by the Global Aquaculture Alliance’s Best Aquaculture Practices program.
SeaPak had several consumer segments in mind when designing its microwaveable soup meals – which are available in select Walmart stores throughout the United States – including seasoned cooks and time-strapped parents, the company said. The new products are considered the Walmart’s only frozen shrimp soup variety on-shelf, SeaPak said.
“Whether you’re a confident cook who enjoys trying trendy flavors at home or someone who prefers quick-and-easy meals with minimal prep, our new soups deliver the mealtime experience you’re craving,” Harris Thomas said. “We are always looking to partner with like-minded retailers to give consumers more reasons to shop the frozen aisle. At SeaPak, our goal is to continue creating new, unique products that expand the category and offer busy moms and dads more options."
