This dish is one of seven tasting plates as part of a special Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner at Avo. While it remains faithful to the Italian classic, chef and owner Nick Lama put a Gulf Coast spin on some of the other tasting dishes, including Sicilian seafood salad, which features snapper and shrimp from the Gulf. The Feast of the Seven Fishes is “similar to what a lot of restaurants here do – Christmas Reveillon dinners, the French equivalent of Feast of the Seven Fishes,” he said.
