Lakeland, Florida-based Publix Super Markets featured fresh wild Alaska sockeye salmon for USD 9.99 (EUR 8.45) per pound for the last two weeks of July. Lower than the typical wild sockeye retail price, Publix is one of several United States supermarket chains taking advantage of the bountiful Alaskan sockeye harvest, which reached 45 million fish statewide as of 19 July.
