Boulogne-Sur-Mer, France-based Groupe Wattez has acquired Regal Maree, a fellow seafood processor in the same area.

Groupe Wattez announced the acquisition on its LinkedIn, calling it a transaction measured in trust in the “well-structured company, rigorous in its work.”

“This acquisition will allow us to offer an even more complete range to our customers thanks to the complementary strengths between the group's companies,” Groupe Wattez said. “But above all, it entrusts us with an additional responsibility: to continue a fine story, to keep a recognized expertise alive, and to keep creating value in our region.”

The company said Etienne Delanoy will take over as management of Regal Maree’s facilities, with the current manager Christophe Falempin remaining with the company to “ensure this handover is a success.”

Regal Maree was founded in 1983, and processes a range of mainly whitefish species into fillets – including pollock, cod, halibut, whiting, and haddock.

Group Wattez also processes fish, and handles roughly 18,000 metric tons of product annually.
