Seafood software provider Maritech wins Atlantic Sapphire contract

Seafood software and analytics firm Maritech has contracted with land-based salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire AS to provide the company with its DigitalSeafood solution, the new partners announced on 3 March.

The first phase of the partnership will see Maritech outfit Atlantic Sapphire’s Bluehouse salmon farming facilities in Florida and Denmark with its DigitalSeafood, which employs both cloud and on-premise technology. This initial stage of the project is expected to grow throughout 2020, with Maritech’s software capable of accommodating the full scope of Atlantic Sapphire’s plans for the processing and distribution of fish and fillets up to 220,000 tons (HOG) by 2031, the companies said in a press release.

Maritech’s DigitalSeafood software supports and automates processes “in production, sales and distribution, enabling the users to forecast inventory, optimize processing and perform detailed margin calculations,” the technology provider said. What’s more, the software also provides efficiency, traceability, and control throughout the value chain, Maritech noted.

“Atlantic Sapphire is pleased to have chosen Maritech. We are confident that this partnership will be valuable to our further growth,” Atlantic Sapphire CEO Johan Andreassen said. “Technology innovation is a key area of focus - our relationship with Maritech is strategically aligned.”

“Atlantic Sapphire is a pioneer in land-based salmon farming, and we are extremely pleased to have been selected as their software solutions partner,” Maritech CEO Janne T. Morstøl added. "We are excited about Atlantic Sapphire’s vision and we look forward to adding value to their business as they continue to grow.”
