Bergen, Norway-based fish farming and fishing company Lerøy Seafood Group (LSG) harvested 46,000 metric tons (MT) of salmon and trout in the third quarter of this year, which represented an increase of 8,800 MT compared with the corresponding period of 2018.
The contribution to the farmed total from the operations at Lerøy Aurora amounted to 9,500 MT (up from 6,600 MT in Q3 2018), Lerøy Midt provided 19,300 MT (down from 19,600 MT) and Lerøy Sjøtroll contributed 17,200 MT (up from 11,100 MT).
In terms of Lerøy’s third-quarter whitefish catch, Havfisk landed 13,200 MT, representing a decrease of 1,100 MT year-on-year. Of those landings, cod accounted for 3,400 MT (down from 4,700 MT).
