Stavis Seafoods scoops up former Morey’s Seafood International accounts manager

Former Morey’s Seafood International manager L. Jeffrey Robertson is joining Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.-based company Stavis Seafoods as its new national accounts manager.

A 25-year veteran of the seafood and food industries, Robertson will work to expand Stavis’ customer base, “supplying a diverse range of seafood offerings to national foodservice and retail accounts,” the company said in a press release. He will assist the company’s customers in building profitability, identifying new opportunities, and developing/expanding their seafood programs and product offerings. Additionally, Robertson will help Stavis’ clientele to stand out from their competitors, the company said.

Robertson comes to the role with ample sales and leadership experience. With Morey’s Seafood International, he served as national key accounts manager, pioneering the rollout of the firm’s value-added seafood line with national retailers. Prior to Morey’s, he worked as national accounts manager for Blue Sea Products, a position that saw him launch new branded commodity and value-added products to the industry. His career has also seen Robertson working with Seafood America as its Midwest/Eastern regional sales manager, North Star Foods as its national sales manager, and Select Food Products as its principle and co-founder.

Stavis Seafoods President David Lancaster said Robertson’s hire fits into the company’s overall growth strategy.

“Jeff has a history of successfully establishing long term sales relationships with national-level customers and will be a key part of our overall growth strategy moving forward,” Lancaster said. “Jeff will be vital part of our new business efforts in foodservice and retail sales as we look to expand our customer base in commodity, brand and value-added sales. He has decades of food sales experience and the contacts and commitment to champion Stavis Seafoods’ products, as well as our worldwide sourcing capabilities and production expertise. Jeff’s enthusiasm and energy will serve him well in this role and we are extremely excited that he has joined our team.”

Lancaster himself was promoted from vice president of sales to president of Stavis earlier this month. In other recent personnel shifts for the multinational fishing company and seafood manufacturer, its chief sustainability officer Richard Stavis will be moving on from the firm by January 2021. Stavis will be operating as a consultant out of his new home in Sweden, where he and his wife are raising their four-year-old daughter, he said in November 2020

Stavis Seafoods is behind the SeaTru, BOS’N, Prince Edward, Foods From the Sea, Boston Pride, and Profand brands. It has vertical integration to fishing vessels and processing plants around the world via Profand, a multinational fishing and seafood manufacturer.
