Tri Marine has been recognized as the first tuna-trading company to achieve ISO 22005:2007 certification from Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Tri Marine also obtained the ISO 9001:2015 certification from DNV.
Tri Marine is a global tuna supply company based in Bellevue, Washington, U.S.A. Founded in 1972, it was acquired by the Bolton Group in 2019. DNV is a quality assurance and risk-management company that helps businesses assure the performance of their organizations, products, people, facilities, and supply chains.
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 22005:2007 certification focuses on the traceability of the feed and food chain. Tri Marine has been certified for frozen tuna (whole round or semi-processed), chilled, and frozen pre-cooked loins and flakes, and shelf-stable products.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is focused on quality-management systems, allowing the eight Tri Marine offices to provide improved services with a focus on customer satisfaction. This includes development of contract specifications, quality control, inspection activities, and support to production specifically for trading of tuna and technical services.
“The road to certification required time and dedication,” Tri Marine CEO Juan Corrales said. “Tri Marine would like to thank everyone involved for their efforts and hard work.”
