Trident issues product recall for Gordon Choice Imitation Crab Supreme Style

Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.-based Trident Seafoods is recalling its Gordon Choice Imitation Crab Supreme Style because it may contain undeclared egg white, the supplier announced on 22 June.

Consumers who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of having an adverse reaction to the product, prompting the company to issue the recall.

The imitation crab product was distributed via Gordon Food Service and Gordon Food Service Stores in a variety of states, including Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Wisconsin, and West Virginia.

Vacuumed-sealed in 40-ounce packages, each Gordon Choice Imitation Crab Supreme Style product is marked with a lot code. Lot codes related to the recall, according to Trident, are M828803, M904202, M916303, M935004, and M016004.

“The recall was initiated after it was discovered through internal product and label review that product containing egg white was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of eggs,” Trident explained in a press release.

No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported relating to the product in question as of 22 June, Trident noted. Consumers who have purchased Gordon Choice Imitation Crab Supreme Style are “urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund,” the company added.

Consumers with questions may contact the company at 1-866-413-4749, or by email to [email protected].
