At-sea pollock processor American Seafoods has teamed up with Bensenville, Illinois, U.S.A.-based Fortune Fish and Gourmet to launch a line of wild Alaska pollock products for the Midwestern United States, according to a 30 July blog post.
The companies will be offering three products featuring wild Alaska pollock, including Perfect Pollock Portions (3.8 and 5.1 ounces each), and Wild Alaska Pollock loins. The products are compatible with “a variety of dishes and cooking styles, for expert and novice cooks alike,” according to Fortune.
“We’re excited to share the story of our catch with you and grateful for this opportunity,” the companies said of their new venture in a joint blog post.
Based out of Seattle, Washington, American Seafoods is considered to be the world’s largest at-sea processor of wild Alaska pollock. The company operates six catcher/processor ships, that traverse Alaska’s Bering Sea, where all of the firm’s wild pollock is caught. The crews aboard American Seafoods ships – which are all between 250 to 350-feet in length – handle everything from catching and processing to packaging and freezing while out on the water. The entire process is undergone in hours, the company says.
