Spectis Robotics, a developer of remotely-operated robotics crawlers and camera systems, has formed a partnership agreement with Canada’s Deep Trekker.
Deep Trekker designs and manufactures underwater ROVs, cameras, and submersible crawlers capable of performing a variety of tasks for the maritime and aquaculture industries, including asset inspection, maintenance, and operational support. The company, which is based out of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada – sometimes referred to as Silicon Valley of the north – will provide Aberdeen, Scotland-based Spectis Robotics with direct access to its experienced engineers to assist in the development of inspection solutions across multiple sectors via the partnership.
Spectis Robotics was formerly Inuktun Europe before it rebranded in June 2019, with managing director Brian Storie retaining full ownership. The partnership with Deep Trekker aligns well with the firm’s continued commitment “to deliver proven inspection solutions complemented by a passion for innovation and collaboration to offer solutions with customisable off-the-shelf products,” it said in a press release.
“We are delighted to be working with such a respected company in Deep Trekker. This partnership will strengthen our existing sales and rentals portfolio, whilst allowing us to expand into new industry sectors such as maritime, nuclear and aquaculture,” Storie said. “We look forward to further developing this relationship to the advantage of our clients and help drive us towards our goal of becoming a go-to company for specialist inspection systems.”
In addition to aquaculture and maritime sectors, Spectis Robotics also serves oil and gas, nuclear, renewables, and civil engineering industries, among others. Currently, the company is working on several new products and improvements to its existing portfolio, it confirmed in its release.
“Spectis Robotics has been involved in the sales, rental and servicing of robotic systems for more than 10 years; developing an impressive track-record over that period,” Deep Trekker Sales Manager Cody Warner said. “We are very excited for them to be joining our distribution network and I’m confident that this partnership will bring benefits for new and existing clients of both companies.”
