Norwegian-headquartered fish farming and fishing company Lerøy Seafood Group (LSG) harvested 37,100 metric tons (MT) of salmon and trout in the second-quarter of this year, representing a decrease of 700 MT compared with the corresponding period of 2018.
The contribution to the farmed total from the operations at Lerøy Aurora amounted to 5,000 MT (down from 6,800 MT in Q2 2018), Lerøy Midt provided 18,600 MT (up from 16,000 MT) and Lerøy Sjøtroll contributed 13,400 MT (down from 15,000 MT).
Year-to-date, the company has harvested 69,500 MT of salmonids, down from 75,400 MT in 2018.
In terms of its second-quarter whitefish catch, Havfisk’s landed 15,900 MT, representing a decrease of 2,300 MT year-on-year. Of these landings, cod accounted for 3,000 MT (down from 3,800 MT). Year-to-date, the company has harvested a total of 36,400 MT, down from 40,500 MT in 2018.
