USDA awards USD 32 million in catfish contracts

The U.S. Department of Agriculture awarded USD 32.4 million (EUR 29 million) worth of contracts to supply frozen catfish fillets for child nutrition and other related domestic food assistance programs for 2022.

America’s Catch in Itta Bena, Mississippi, U.S.A. was awarded USD 20.2 million (EUR 18 million) in contracts.

Isola, Mississippi-based Consolidated Catfish will supply nearly USD 4 million (EUR 3.5 million) worth of catfish products to the USDA, and Simmons Farm Raised Catfish in Yazoo City, Mississippi, was awarded a contract to supply USD 722,000 EUR 638,000) worth of raw, unbreaded catfish.

The companies will deliver the fish between February and July 2022.

America’s Catch also won a contract worth USD 3.1 million (EUR 2.8 million) in mid-November 2021.

And in August 2021, the USDA awarded a contract for catfish procurement worth more than USD 2.4 million to Consolidated Catfish.
