Fortifi Food Processing Solutions has completed the acquisition of Provisur Technologies after first announcing a deal between it and Provisur in August.

Fortifi is a producers of processing automation solutions for a number of different products, including seafood, and said the acquisition fits into its longer-term strategy to create full-line automated food processing solutions.

The exact terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“This acquisition marks a transformative new chapter for Fortifi,” Fortifi CEO Massimo Bizzi said. “With Provisur’s complementary technologies, we now offer complete protein-processing capabilities, from primary through further processing lines. Together, our shared strengths solidify our global leadership, create new opportunities for innovation, and drive continued growth.”

With the acquisition, Fortifi has acquired Provisur’s processing brands, including AM2C, Beehive, Cashin, Formax, Hoegger, Lutetia, and Weiler. The products have a range of functions, including slicing, mechanically separated products, defrosting, marinating, cooking, with some applications in seafood processing.

“Provisur represents another important step forward in building Fortifi into a diversified, global leader in food-processing automation,” Fortifi Board Member Josh Weisenbeck said. “By bringing Fortifi closer to its customers through Provisur’s expertise in further processing and strong aftermarket capabilities, we’re strengthening the platform’s ability to deliver greater efficiency, reliability, and sustainability across the global food production value chain.”

Provisur said joining with Fortifi will allow it to expand its network and gain stability via the larger organization.

“Together, we can accelerate growth, reach new customers in new markets, and introduce Fortifi’s market-leading solutions to the customers who already place their trust in Provisur,” Provisur Technologies President Brian Perkins said.
