Fortifi Food Processing Solutions has entered an agreement to acquire Provisur Technologies, a protein processing solutions company.

Fortifi produces a range of processing automation solutions for a number of products, including seafood. The company said the acquisition fits into its broader strategy to create complete full-line solutions for automated food processing.

The exact terms of the acquisition were not disclosed by either party.

“This is a pivotal moment for our organization and our valued customers,” Fortifi CEO Massimo Bizzi said in a release. “We look forward to joining forces with Provisur as we strengthen our product breadth across the protein value chain and continue to grow together. By extending our application expertise and growing our operating footprint, we will be able to improve customer experience and outcomes.”

Provisur has a number of existing brands in the protein processing space, which offer solutions in “grinding, forming, slicing, and tumbling” according to Fortifi. Its brands include AM2C, Beehive, Cashin, Formax, Hoegger, Lutetia, and Weiler, the company said.

“We are proud of what Provisur has built over the years – a company shaped by innovation, customer commitment and technical excellence,” Provisur Technologies President Brian Perkins said. “Becoming part of Fortifi marks a meaningful new chapter for us and one that expands the reach of our business and accelerates our shared vision for the future of food processing.”

Fortifi Board Member Josh Weisenbeck said the acquisition will help support the company’s next phase of growth.

“This acquisition reflects Fortifi’s continued focus on building a diversified, global leader in food processing automation,” he said.
