After 12 years elsewhere, the India International Seafood Show (IISS) will return to southwestern coastal city Kochi for its 22nd edition.
Organized by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA) in association with Seafood Exporters Association of India (SEAI), IISS is a biennial event that sees Indian exporters meet with overseas importers of the country’s marine products, according to a report from the Hindu Business Line. The event features showcases from manufacturers and suppliers of seafood processing machinery, packaging systems, processing ingredient dealers, logistics solutions, and cold chain systems.
The upcoming Kochi-based edition of IISS – slated to take place from 7 to 9 February, 2020 – will focus on technological advances and sustainable practices as they relate to India’s seafood processing sector, the Hindu Business Line reported. Technical sessions will be hosted by national and international experts during IISS, across the event’s 7,000 square meters of exhibit space.
Buyer delegations from countries focusing on mutual tie-ups in seafood processing and the value-added sector are expected to attend IISS 2020, MPEDA and SEAI said.
