The Bonamar Corp., a direct source of seafood specializing in fresh, frozen and pasteurized crabmeat, hired Jeff Smith as senior business development manager.
Smith is the former director of business development for Sigma International in St. Petersburg, Fla., whose assets were purchased last week by John Keeler & Co. (Blue Star Foods) of Miami.
Smith, who brings nearly 30 years of shellfish experience to Bonamar, spent approximately seven years during two stints with Sigma and previously worked for other shellfish companies with 10 of those years at Central Seaway, which is based in Illinois.
Smith will focus on sales support for the region and business development nationally.
