As of 11 October, Jorge Luis Ramírez Rubio has moved up in the ranks at Camposol Foods, going from general manager of the company’s aquafarming and shrimp farming division to its new acting CEO.
Ramírez, who had been serving the Camposol’s aquafarming division since 2015 and was the company’s CFO from 2008 to 2013, was selected by the Board of Directors to replace former CEO Manuel Salazar Diez Canseco. Camposol tapped Ramírez to take over its shrimp farming business following low process and high mortality rates as a result of El Nino weather.
Aside from his work with Camposol, Ramírez has also held positions with Amanco and Mexichem Group, where he served in Ecuador, Costa Rica and Brazil, and was the last CFO for the Latin America region. Specializing in business management and, specifically, finance, Ramírez has completed an MBA from ITESM (Mexico) and ESPOL (Ecuador).
“[Ramírez] has developed a successful professional career in strategic planning, corporate finances, mergers and acquisitions, and international affairs,” said Camposol.
