Carl Fowler hired as senior vice president at Americold

Americold, a provider of temperature-controlled warehousing and transportation, has hired Carl Fowler as senior vice president, business development – regional accounts.

Fowler will lead the regional development and growth strategy for the Atlanta, Ga.-based business, which provides facilities and logistical support to seafood producers, processors, distributors and retailers. Americold has more than 180 warehouses containing more than 1 billion cubic feet of storage in the U.S., Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina and Canada.

“We’re extremely pleased to be bringing on board an individual with as much cross-functional expertise as Carl,” Americold executive vice president and chief commercial officer Keith Goldsmith said. “He’s taking on a high-performing Regional Business Development team, and I’m excited for the insight and strategy he’ll use to direct them going forward.”

Previously, Fowler worked with Penske Logistics, E.L. Hollingsworth and Vemco, acquiring experience in sales, engineering, supply chain solutions, planning and forecasting, transportation management and contract logistics. Most recently, Folwer was vice president of sales and solutions with XPO/Menlo, where he oversaw growth strategy, global sales, solutions process development and product development.
