Channel Fish Processing purchases new processing plant in Massachusetts

Channel Fish Processing has announced its purchase of a processing and distribution facility in Braintree, Massachusetts.

The Boston-based company currently operates two processing facilities in Massachusetts, processing frozen breaded and battered value-added seafood products, fresh and refreshed seafood, and conducting freezing of fish fillets and scallops.

The company plans undertake extensive renovations of the new facility in order to convert it into both a modern value added and a fresh seafood processing facility, and it expects the plant to be operational by October 2017.
“We are very pleased to be building the new state-of-the-art facility, we feel that it will help take the company to the next level,” Channel Fish President and Majority Owner Roy Zaffiro said. “The building is designed for us to be flexible in production, be extremely efficient, and has room for significant further growth.”

Zaffiro said the company plans to move all of its fresh and value-added processing into the new facility.

The company also plans to have a presence at the upcoming Seafood Expo North America / Seafood Processing North America from 19 to 21 March in Boston. Channel with be exhibiting at Booth #2887.
