Domstein sees improvement in 2Q results

Domstein ASA on Wednesday released its second-quarter results.

The Måløy, Norway-based fishing and seafood company posted an operating loss of NOK 1.7 million (USD 280,800, EUR 196,800) in the second quarter of 2009, up from a loss of NOK 8.1 million (USD 1.3 million, EUR 937,800) in 2008, while it recorded and operating loss after tax of NOK 2.2 million (USD 363,400, EUR 254,700) this year, up from a loss of NOK 21.8 million (USD 3.6 million, EUR 2.5 million) last year.

Additionally, the company posted operating revenues of NOK 118.8 million (USD 16.6 million, EUR 13.8 million) in the second quarter of 2009, up from NOK 115.5 (USD 19.1 million, EUR 13.4 million) million in 2008.

All Domstein divisions experienced increased profitability in the second quarter of 2009, except Ervik Havfiske, which was hurt by low whitefish prices.
