Fishery managers in northern California, Oregon and Washington have delayed the opening of the commercial Dungeness crab season by at least two weeks to allow the crabs to fill with more meat.
The area of the delay is from Point Arena, Calif., to the north.
The Dungeness season along the Oregon coast typically opens 1 December, but it can be pushed back to improve product quality.
