Harvest Select appoints former executive chef as its new sales VP

Harvest Select has brought Michael Locascio onto its leadership team as the new VP of Sales.

Having joined the company back in June 2015, Locascio will operate in familiar terrain and will head all sales operations at the Alabama-based seafood firm. He will also be responsible for developing new product lines to facilitate future growth of the company.

Locascio, an executive chef by trade, has spent 23 years in a variety of kitchens across the United States. Starting out in Birmingham, Alabama, Locascio got his skillet primed by cooking alongside celebrity chef Frank Stitt at the Bottega and Highlands Bar and Grill. After 10 years with Bottega and Highlands, Locascio departed for New York City, where he worked with a number of the area’s top culinary professionals. Locascio also made it to Europe, cooking throughout Sweden, France and Italy.

Shifting from cooking to sales, Locascio will use his culinary experience and sales acumen – which includes three years spent in the beef industry as a Corporate Chef and Multi-Units Sales Manager – as well as his understanding of farmed-raised products to Harvest Select’s benefit.

“Combining his comprehensive background in the kitchen with his knowledge in the food sales industry, Michael is a sizeable catch for Harvest Select and he is eager to take on the challenge of increasing awareness and sales growth for Harvest Select’s U.S Farm-Raised Catfish and Seafood,” said Harvest Select.

“We are thrilled to have Michael at the helm of our sales team and look forward to seeing his innovative and creative ideas for sales growth come to fruition,” added Randy Rhodes, President of Harvest Select.
