Hong Kong shop target of big seafood heist

Burglars made off with HK 300,000 (USD 38,000, EUR 32,000) in dried seafood from a shop in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong, on Monday.

The irony of the major theft was that the shop, on the ground floor of Wayson Commercial Building on Connaught Road West, is located directly across the street from the Central Police Station, the South China Morning Post reported.

The woman told police the shop’s rolling shutter was lowered and unlocked and its padlock was missing.

Police are examining security camera footage for evidence, but have not made any arrests.
