Marel shuffles management team

Marel Food Systems of in Garðabær, Iceland, on Monday announced the appointment of a team of managing directors to head its four new industry centers — fish, meat, poultry and further processing

Sigsteinn Gretarsson is managing director of the fish and meat industry centers. He also serves as managing director of Marel ehf and is a management board member.

Anton de Weerd is managing director of the poultry industry center. He is also the managing director of Marel subsidiaries Storck PMT and Stork Gamco.

Marel CEO Theo Hoen will service as managing director of the further processing industry center.

The establishment of industry centers is a reflection of the enhanced industry-oriented focus Marel is adopting to better serve its customers. With the new structure in place, the company said it will be able to provide its customers will one unified interface for each industry.

In addition, Marel appointed Petur Gudjonsson managing director of the sales and service units. He is also senior director of sales and marketing.
